NBC reported that the FBI announced that Christian Sturdivant, 18, of Mint Hill, North Carolina, has been arrested and federally charged with attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. Justice Department and partner agencies said Sturdivant was inspired by the Islamic State terrorist group, and planned to attack a grocery store and a Burger King restaurant on New Year’s Eve in Mint Hill, a suburb on the outskirts of Charlotte. Officials said that he was an employee at Burger King, but they did not identify which grocery store they believed he planned to attack. Sturdivant planned to target a wide swath of American society, including non-Muslim people, LGBTQ individuals, and law-enforcement and military personnel.

The Jerusalem Post reported that a pro-Hamas Islamist
preacher began a UK speaking tour on Sunday, January 4th despite multiple calls
for the government to ban him for his extremism. Dr Shadee Elmasry began his
tour in Birmingham, but will head to Bolton on Monday and Ilford on Tuesday.
The tour was organized by the Global Relief Trust.
Elmasry was born and raised in New Jersey,
US, but has studied in many different Islamic countries, including Morocco,
Yemen, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The Jerusalem Post did a deep dive into his
online presence and discovered antisemitic and pro-terror views. Here are some
of them:
On 26 November 2023, "even if
it was Hamas, it's conceivable and maybe even expected that a legitimate
resistance [sic] movement will make condemnable mistakes or go to excesses
every once in a while. That doesn't take anything away from the morality of
their resistance."
Elmasry then hosted a talk show on
November 28, 2023, named 'Exposing Israeli Lies' in which he denied the rapes,
beheadings, violence on October 7, and presented the massacre as an Israeli lie.

Nurse Meg Lynch, 28, said she was 'nearly beaten to death'
while she stood getting a drink from a vending machine. The district nurse, who
suffered 'a few blows to the head' with a crowbar before running and
hiding from her alleged attacker, told how she was left bloodied and bruised.
A 20-year-old Afghan man
allegedly launched the attack after he was refused an appointment, and was
arrested at the scene at Newton Community Hospital in Newton-Le-Willows,
Merseyside, on suspicion of six counts of wounding, affray and criminal
damage. Merseyside Police said he had been detained
under the Mental Health Act, and officers would be carrying out high-visibility
patrols in the area.
All
of the injured are in a stable condition. Their injuries included head
lacerations, injuries to their arms and hands, and bruising.

FRANCE
On Dec. 25, all
four Algerian men are alleged to have broken through shutters, the family’s
French doors, and entered the house. However, a surveillance camera inside the
house detected movement, and the family quickly notified the police. Police caught
two of the suspects on scene the other two were arrested at an RER train
station nearby.
Once in custody,
all four men claimed they were born in 2009 and therefore were all allegedly
16. Since they were illegally in France and had no documents, the claim allowed
them to walk free immediately due to their alleged age.
French news
outlet Valeurs was skeptical, noting that they all
appear much older in the photos, even with blurring. Valuers journalist Amaury Bucco, “To get an idea
of the gap between their real age and their claimed age, we showed these photos
(unblurred) to the artificial intelligence software ChatGPT, asking it to
provide an age range for each of them. Here is its response: for the first
suspect (top right), the software gives an age range between 23 and 28 years.
For the second: between 27 and 34 years. For the third, between 24 and 30
years. And for the fourth: between 19 and 24 years.”
SPAIN
https://nltimes.nl/2026/01/05/spain-bans-dutch-man-10-years-alleged-ties-jihadist-network
The
Netherland Times reported that a 37-year-old man from Doetinchem has been
banned from entering Spain for 10 years. Spanish authorities say the man poses
a “real and serious threat to national security” because of alleged ties to a
jihadist network from Arnhem. The man denies any involvement in terrorist
activities.
A
Spanish judge issued the ruling after the man was arrested in July 2023 at a
hotel in the Spanish city of Burgos. The man had traveled from the Netherlands
to Morocco in the summer of 2023 to visit family and stayed overnight in Burgos
while in transit. He was arrested there, and Spanish authorities initiated
deportation proceedings the following day.
Authorities
had linked the man to the so-called Arnhem terror group, a jihadist-inspired
cell dismantled by Dutch police in 2018. The group sent fighters to Syria and
allegedly planned attacks in the Netherlands.
SWITZERLAND
A ruling by Switzerland’s Federal Administrative Court
has confirmed that the Afghan national accused of stabbing a 39-year-old man in
Bäckeranlage park in the spring of 2024 was an adult at the time of the attack,
despite having claimed to be a minor during his asylum proceedings.
Judges found that the man gave contradictory information
during his asylum procedure. When he entered Switzerland, he stated his date of
birth as Jan. 1, 2007, which would have made him 17 at the time of the
stabbing. This would have meant he would receive a more lenient sentence and
could not be deported after serving any juvenile sentence.
However, records from an earlier registration in Greece
listed his birth year as 2006. The man said he did not know his exact date of
birth and referred to Afghan identity documents, but the court said those
documents, based on the Persian calendar, actually supported the conclusion
that he was 18 at the time of the crime.
This actually allows Switzerland to debate deportation
for the crime.
NETHERLANDS
The
Lelystad court ruled on Monday January 5th and sentenced the father
and two brothers of 18-year-old Ryan Al Najjar from Joure to prison terms of up
to 30 years for her murder in May 2024. Ryan was strangled and
drowned in the near by river.
The
father, 53-year-old Khaled Al Naj-jar, received the heaviest sentence of 30
years, five years longer than the prosecution had requested. He reportedly
played a leading role in the crime and fled to Syria after the murder, where he
remains internationally wanted. Ryan’s brothers, Mohamed (23) and Muhanad (25),
were each sentenced to 20 years, matching the prosecution’s request.
Al
Najjar was reported missing six days before she was found dead. Her death was
ruled a drowning. Authorities believe all three were angered that Al Najjar was
choosing to live a more Western-influenced lifestyle, daring to have friends
who are men, not always wearing a headscarf, and sharing her opinions on
social media platforms. The prosecutor said during the trial that “Honor
killings are completely unacceptable. This is a form of femicide.”

Expressen revealed
that Islamist leaders are fleeing Sweden after benefiting from over a
billion kroner (which is $99,220,426) in government welfare funding while
leaving behind SEK 33 million in unpaid tax debts.
Radical networks linked to the Muslim Brotherhood (MB)
and the United Muslims of Sweden (SFM) bagged state funding for schools,
preschools, and daycare centers.
“It’s like a double loss. The welfare money
disappears, and we don’t get the welfare that we have paid for with our tax
money,” said Henric Fagher, Chief Prosecutor at the Economic Crimes Authority
in Gothenburg. “Someone else steals the money and enriches himself.”
One of the most prominent cases of fraud involves a
Gothenburg school that received 462 million kronor in public funding.
Somali-Swedish former MP Abdirizik Waberi served as principal and was convicted
of siphoning off 12 million kronor (€1.11 million) through fake invoices.
According to the report, large sums were sent to Waberi’s Islamist party in
Somalia, while other funds were used for private purchases, including Thai sex
clubs, political party membership fees, and trips to luxury hotels in Southeast
Asia and Kenya.
The owner of another Gothenburg school, which employed
former Islamic State terrorists who had returned to Sweden, also stole millions
of kronor, transferring the money to Malta before disappearing.
PAKISTAN
https://tribune.com.pk/story/2585080/woman-shot-dead-in-wah-cantt-in-suspected-honour-killing
Samira Aziz, who had been
residing in Qatar with her husband, was brought to Pakistan a week earlier by
two uncles under what her sister later alleged was a pretext. On the night
of the incident, relatives arrived at the family home and, acting on instructions delivered via
video call from Qatar, allegedly shot her multiple times.
The attackers, identified
as Waleed and Asrar, who are close relatives of Aziz’s father, entered the
house after her aunt was instructed by phone to open the door. The FIR states
that Aziz’s husband, Suleman, then made a video call and directed the
aunt to remove Aziz’s sister from the room and “let them finish Samira off”.
The two men allegedly drew pistols and opened fire, hitting Samira in various
parts of her body. She died at the scene.
The motive, as cited in
the police report, stemmed from suspicions by Aziz’s husband, who had
allegedly found her speaking on the phone with another man while in Qatar.
