Fox News reported that a criminal illegal immigrant who was released into the U.S. under the Biden administration and began working as a commercial truck driver was arrested over alleged ties to terrorism on November 9th.

Authorities in Uzbekistan accused him of distributing terrorist propaganda calling for jihad online and recruiting terrorists to join the jihad movement.

Ryan Thorpe and Christopher Rufo wrote an article this week for City Journal titled, “The Largest Funder of Al-Shabaab Is the Minnesota Taxpayer.” According to the article, federal counterterrorism sources confirm that millions of dollars in stolen funds have been sent back to Somalia, where they ultimately landed in the hands of the terror group Al-Shabaab. As one confidential source put it: The Somali fraud rings have sent huge sums in remittances, or money transfers, from Minnesota to Somalia. According to reports, an estimated 40 percent of households in Somalia get remittances from abroad. In 2023 alone, the Somali diaspora sent back $1.7 billion—more than the Somali government’s budget for that year. According to multiple law-enforcement sources, Minnesota’s Somali community has sent untold millions through a network of “hawalas,” informal clan-based money-traders, that have wound up in the coffers of Al-Shabaab.

IRAN
A child bride faces execution in Iran for the murder of her husband – after years trapped in an abusive marriage – unless she raises £80,000 to pay off his family.
Goli Koohkan, now 25, was aged 12 when her parents married her off to a cousin without her consent. At the age of 13, she was pregnant. And at the age of 18, she was arrested and sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for participation in the killing, and thrown in Gorgan Central Prison in northern Iran.
‘Desperate and helpless, she called his cousin for help. When he arrived, a fight broke out which ended with her husband being unintentionally killed. ‘Goli called for an ambulance and told the authorities everything.’
It is understood that the fight started after Goli returned home to find that her husband had beaten up their five-year-old boy. She was sentenced to death by hanging and has already spent seven years behind bars, making her the longest-serving female inmate in Gorgan.
Under Iranian law, the family of the victim can pardon her in exchange for a ‘blood money’ payment – compensation paid in cases of murder or bodily harm.
